Dear Lorenzo
I recently read your book, The Broken Hearts Story, that you dedicated to 'Glo-Ball. I thought it was the sweetest thing I ever read. I could see why 'Glo-Ball' started crying when you presented it to her. It erased the thought that her tears were just a result of you leaving for good.
When I first opened your book, I saw that there was a dedication page, and I knew that I was in for a wonderful journey as your book cover suggested. You start out by delivering us a passage of scripture from the bible. It's from the book of Matthew, Chapter 22, verses 36 - 40 which talks about two of the greatest commandments being loving God and loving each other.
I think those verses probably make up all of who you are. I will definitely miss how you always looked out for everybody, and while I can't definitively say that you had a strong relationship with God, I can surmise.
Lorenzo, I am sorry that I couldn't be there for you like you were there for us. I made what you were going through all about me and never acknowledged or thought about things from your perspective. Reading the rest of your dedication page changed the way I saw the situation. It reads:
Earlier this year, someone that I care about had a vulnerable moment that really touched my heart. She didn’t have a clear direction for the life she wanted to lead and had felt like giving up.
I could relate to her pain.
I know what it feels like to feel hopeless, and I never wanted that feeling for myself so I couldn’t bear the thought of someone that I knew experiencing something similar.
GLO-BALL
I dedicate this story to you because in your moment of weakness you gave credibility to mine. You gave me the courage to speak the truth and in return I wanted to bless you with your very own mark on history. So, whenever you’re feeling down. Whenever you’re not sure if anybody truly cares, read this, and know differently. Yahweh is with you, and He will not forsake you.
After my first readthrough I thought, wow, this is going to have a profound impact on Glo-Ball's life. Then I proceeded to read the rest of your book until my eyes landed on your poem, The Unforeseen. It reads:

A shockwave of expectations
Reputations of the past present
Though better off ignored
Lack of understanding
Only non-verbal communication galore
The easy-going slowly dwindles away
Verbal communication begins begging to stay
Truths become lies
Lies become facts
A gaping hole spreads wide
Unable to be patched
A heart desired
A heart uncertain
Ends a bond
Now pull down the curtain
This poem made me realize that I had missed something when reading your dedication page. This book isn't just about being there for Glo-Ball in her time of need. It isn't just about the journey a broken heart will take to mend itself. It's about you, as well.
Beyond the sweetness of your heart there is also pain. It's clear to me that you've experienced a broken heart before and maybe that had something to do with your recent mental health struggles.
I can relate.
I've gone through the pain of heartbreak. It's a tough pill to swallow. You become emotional. You start questioning your self-worth and if the relationship was toxic, you may even come out feeling undeserving of happiness.
When I fought to overcome my heartbreak, I found myself being supported by family and friends. Reflecting back, I know feel ashamed for the way I didn't come to your aid. I was just scared and unsure of how to better support you. The same could be said of the rest of the team. But regardless of things turned out, I wish you nothing but the best. You deserve to be happy. You deserve to be in a place where people appreciate and value you for who you are in spite of your flaws.
With nothing but love and gratitude
Your former co-worker, Stacy
PS
I almost forgot. Lorenzo, you may not feel valued in life right now but as your last poem points out, life found you worthy of being created. You are meant for some amazing things! I just know it!
Please check out my new book that is dedicated to a very special friend of mine along with Yahweh, the Creator of the Universe who is at the center of everything I do.
